Hola!
Well, this week was pretty normal but good. Thanks to hearing from Hermana Payne I had nightmares that I got lice. It is a very possible reality. I have seen the lice on people´s heads... Also there is no shortage of cockroaches and mosquitos here!
Last p-day we went to a Japanese garden in Palermo and it reminded me of Rachelle in Japan! It was a beautiful garden. We went with the elders in our district. I will send pictures. The computer I am using is really slow to upload the pictures, so we´ll see how many I can get out today, without being here all day... Yesterday we ate lunch with the Buron family and they informed me that there is a WALMART in the area! We will find it! I got really excited. More excited that Walmart deserves I think... :)

Because some have asked, It´s still hot and still humid. It´s the humidity that kills. I am always sticky, even fresh out of the shower. However I heard in December and January it was pretty much unbearable, so luckily I got here for feb! My companion is doing good. She is very Chilena. Her accent, the words she uses, everything. And she doesn´t speak a word of english, (ok she only knows how to say goodnight and hi). haha. I am definitely learning a lot from her. I feel like I just started the mission, but when I am with her, (which is always) she reminds me that it´s been awhile, as she just started the mission 1 transfer ago haha. It feels good being senior companion, but mostly just more responsibility. I feel like it´s more my responsibility that we work hard and do all we can do. It also means more stress at times. I love 2 Nephi 25:23, I think it is, that talks about doing all that we can. Anyways, I hope that answers the questions, if not, ask again! haha.

We started teaching a family this week that has lots of problems. It made me never want to have problems in my family EVER. The husband cheated on the wife, being the biggest problem. Luckily he is changing and wants an eternal family. They´ll get baptized sometime soon, I feel it coming. :) We are also working with Nicolas still. He is the 12 year old kid I think I mentioned before. He had a date for this coming Sunday, but we had to move it back a week because of complications with stake conference, so hopefully in 2 weeks he will get baptized.

Well, thanks for the pictures of Grandma´s wedding and Melina tearing it up at Steven´s pass. I think she might be able to outski me, and Katie too at the rate they´re going!
Word of advice in the powder: watch out for hidden stumps and always wear a helmet!
Alma 26:22 - repent!

Hola!
This week was pretty normal but pretty good. We are working super hard and as a result I am dead tired. I feel like I am always tired. haha.

Melani got baptized on saturday and confirmed on Sunday. She is the 9 year old girl we found Sunday. The baptism was really nice. It was a pain to plan because we don´t have credit on our cell phone right now, so we had to make lots of phone calls from pay phones. We get credit once a month and we aren´t allowed to buy more credit than what the mission gives us each month. Anyways, all went well and now we are working lots with her brother as well and her mom. They are friends with a family in the ward, which helps a lot.

Other than that, we keep working and teaching and finding people. Hopefully we can find more people that want to get baptized soon! There´s this one lady that´s been going to church for like a year, but doesn´t want to get baptized yet. I think that wlil be a good goal for the next little bit!

Pdte. called me this morning and said he is in Ushuaia right now and that the two families we were teaching got baptized this weekend! He congratulated me and told me to keep working hard. That was nice of him to call.

I hope Grandma´s wedding went well! Congratulations Grandma!

Love,
Hermana Jones

HNA PAYNE, voy a mandarle un paquete, qué quiere?! estoy en capital ahora, entonces avíseme si hay algo específico! Todavía está en su segundo area? Cuantas compañeras ha tenido? Le quiero mucho!

Hola!
Our zone had interviews with President yesterday, and we received mail. Thanks mom for the V-day package that I got on Vday!!! Also, thanks to Katie (K-pal) for the Christmas card with the snowman! Guess what!? I finally got my Book of Mormon in Quechua!!! Now that I´m not in the south haha. I hope Hna. Rivera got one sent to her too... she´s the one that really needs it!

This week went well. Lots of changes and I´m still getting used to things, but all is well. I am now in Nuñez in Capital Federal. It is next to Vicente López. The other day I ran into 2 old investigators I had in Vicente López, that was kind of fun. My companion´s name is Hna. Gonzalez. She is also CHILENA. She is from San Antonio, Chile which is an hour or so from Santiago. This is only her second transfer so I am having to teach her a lot. She also is still learning the area and the members and everything so we are working a lot on that. Luckily, she talks A LOT. Sometimes too much ;). I was scared I´d get a companion that doesn´t talk much, but I guess if you already know the language it´s easier to talk in your first couple transfers! I miss Ushuaia lots and Hna. Rivera especially, but I know that we are going to baptize tons here.
There are lots of problems in the ward, and have been problems with missionaries before in the ward, so the members don´t have a lot of confidence in the missionaries supposedly. Working with members is key, so we will be working to gain their trust again and bring people to Christ with their help! We are already seeing progress with that.

On a wonderful note, we are already seeing miracles. We will be having our first baptism of the transfer saturday! We found her on Sunday. Her name is Melani and she is 9 years old. She has already been to church 4 times with a friend in the ward! Sunday after church we went and taught her family. Her mom and brother are also very interested. The brother has a baptismal date for March 5th as he needs to go to church 2 more times. So that is kind of exciting.
We are found a kid named Diego this week that has a baptismal date for the 5th. He is 14 and wants to get baptized too. He also went to church on Sunday!

There are a lot of things different about capital, but I am enjoying it. It is hard at times, and we really have to talk to everyone we can to find new investigators, but I know that things will be good and if we have the faith, we can baptize lots of people here in Nuñez. There is a ¨China town¨ here which is funny. An area where a lot of chinese people live. Now, I will have to request a Chinese Book of Mormon from the mission offies. Also, I have noticed lots of Peruanos and Paraguayans. No Bolivianos for now. :(

Being senior companion I feel more responsible and I have to ¨rendir cuentas¨ more. Not sure the best way to say that in English. Give an accounting? Anyways, all is well, vamos a bautizar!

Hermana Jones

Hola!
Well, transfers got moved to mondays, and I am transferring up to an area called Nuñez in CAPITAL! It is in Belgrano. It´s pretty much pure apartment bulidings, instead of knocking doors we´ll be doing lots of doorbells outside of huge apartment buildings. I am still in Ushuaia now, but tomorrow or wednesday I will fly up to Buenos Aires. I am a little sad, because we have 5 baptisms that are for sure going to go through in the next 2 weeks here in Ushuaia. Also, Ushuaia is the best place on earth and I have an awesome companion, Hna. Rivera. However, I know that the Lord has called me to capital and I will love it there too. I got called as senior companion and my new companion´s name is Hna. Gonzalez. I have no clue where she is from or anything, only that she is ïn training¨right now. She only has 6 weeks in the mission. So I will continue to train her. I feel slightly in shock right now, but it´s all good!

This last week was great. We had lots of success. We worked a lot with the members, and I love the progress we are seeing here. We taught a ton of lessons. I love being here. Although it is not easy, it is worth it.

I will let ya´ll know how Belgrano is next week, if I haven´t died of heat yet! ;)

Love,
Hermana Jones
